It's crystal clear; Crystal Gardenia EDP by KKW Fragrances...

KKW Fragrances. A Kim Kardashian-West brand that I'd heard about and dismissed, as I've tried every perfume previously release by her under her last range [except the HTF Love one] and I wasn't wowed by them. However, I then saw photos of the pretty bottles for the KKW line and was predictably suckered in. One impulse blind buy later and I was soon receiving a bottle in the post...

If you follow the KKW Fragrances line, you'll know that they'll be releasing three new fragrances at 8pm UK-time this evening, ready for Valentine's Day. I personally think that this new trio [the Kimoji Hearts line] looks cheap, tacky and generally 'meh', so instead of looking at them I instead thought I'd bring some attention back to the original range by the brand instead [by 'original' I mean a whole three/four months old].

I'm going to start by focusing on the one that most consider to be the piller of the Crystal Gardenia range...

Crystal Gardenia  has surprised me with how wearable I find it, seeing that I didn't really enjoy any of her self-named fragrances with tuberose in them and all of the Crystal Gardenia fragrances contain it [here are my reviews for Kim KardashianKim Kardashian Glam. My review for Kim Kardashian Gold is here on MUA].

Tuberose is one of those floral scent notes in perfume that can be iffy for me, as it is strong on me and I find that it often overtakes everything else to my nose, but here it is perfectly balanced with the gardenia and tiare flowers. Very clean and clearly defined.

However I do find that the watery grapefruit, pear and lily combined with the clean florals and airy musk make the fragrance seem an overall 'cold' blend to me, which stops me from truly enjoying Crystal Gardenia. Plus this is quite a linear fragrance, so it seems like something for people who enjoy simpler, uncomplicated perfumes, and dislike sweeter blends.

Official scent notes; pink grapefruit, Anjou pear, water lily, gardenia, tiare flower, tuberose, sandalwood, solar amber and skin musk.

The fragrance lasts around 6/7 hours on me, and it goes close to the skin quickly. Not the greatest, but I think it is pretty good for the more affordable price range [£38 for a 30ml bottle - including international shipping and custom tax].

The healing crystal shaped bottle, thick card flip-lid box and accompanying envelope containing three clear quartz healing crystals, looks fantastic. A great gift idea - the presentation of the fragrance gives it an expensive, luxurious feeling. The international shipping time is very good too - exactly 7 days between ordering from the US-based company, shipping and delivery to my front door in England.

In conclusion; whilst I'll use up my bottle without complaint [I love layering it underneath sweet perfumes to give them more depth], I wouldn't rebuy it - I do like warm, cuddly scent notes in my fragrances and I don't detect any of the sweeter & intimate accords other people pick up on in Crystal Gardenia.

Crystal Gardenia Citrus is my top pick from KKW, as I find it a bit sweeter and it feels like a 'happy' fragrance to me [I'll be reviewing the Citrus edition next on the blog - hopefully within the next few days].

The Crystal Gardenia perfumes are sold through the KKW Fragrances site.

30ml bottle - $35
